There is a first time for everything. And you decided to fly on an airplane for the first time! I don’t know about you but when I am nervous about something I like to prepare myself for it. If that’s why you’re reading this blog, well I am here to help.
Preparing for your flight
Make sure you beat the crowd. You will have to wait in a security check line and trust me depending on the time and location you will need to get there early. 2-3 hours early is a good ballpark. Now make sure you have sources of identification, they will need that, make sure to bring 2 forms of id just in case they do not accept the first one. Make sure all your boarding pass/ticket info is correct and keep an eye out for the gate number as they will start boarding around 30 minutes-1 hour before take off. Time is fast at the airport so be prepared!
What to expect
Well for starters if you are afraid of heights i will not recommend the window seat. Planes go up super high and you will see it. Unless you are flying first class, expect to be pretty close to the people around you. These seats are small but not too inviting. You won’t be able to move your seat back pretty far either as there are people behind you. Hough this does not happen every time. Expect some loud or uncomfortable kids ready to complain. Maybe your neighbor is a talker and will strike up a conversation the whole flight. Though in these last two cases earbuds are very helpful. Speaking of earbuds this brings us to our next section.
What to bring
Now you can bring your suitcase on the flight and your carry-on suitcase will be stored away. It’s helpful to bring a backpack with you that you can put under the seat in front of you. Before I get any further I would like to explain the difference between your main suitcase, carry on bag, and backpack. Now the main suitcase is where you will put all your clothes and body care or skin care products. Basically everything you will not need until your destination. Though electronics aren’t allowed in the suitcase you will have to place these items in your carry on. Now a carry-on bag is not necessary, it’s just the things you could not fit in your backpack. If you can fit everything in your bag then great! These items will be helpful or necessary for you to bring on the plane. These items can also help cure your boredom while in the air. You should have your electronics(though most apps cant be used in the air you will still need to bring them on the plan), a pillow or neck pillow, a book to keep you entertained, blanket to keep you comfortable while you nap, you can also bring activity books or maybe a journal if you want to document your trip.
There are many things to do preparing for your flight but don’t stress so much that you forget the important things behind. Take it easy and plan it a couple days before your trip. Have fun and relax. You deserve it!
