The fresh start of a New Year is always one way to get motivation to start up your goals! When people think of a new year goal, working out more is one of the few things that come to mind. Yes physical health is important but becoming a better version of yourself takes emotional and mental health too. Please remember this when planning out your goals. Now your past year may have sucked and this is when you decided that you will make this year better. How to do that? Where to start? Now these questions may be racing through your mind. Well, I am here to help!
Write down those goals!
What do you want to do this year? What will make this year different from the past ones? Think this through and write down everything you plan on doing this year. This might be big or small but it is good to write them down.
Small Goal +Small Goal + Small Goal= End Goal
Now these goals may be huge and you could think about how hard it will be to complete these goals. Sometimes it is helpful to put them into smaller parts. Take your goals and cut it up into steps in reaching the big goal. Think about what you will need to attain the big goal. For example, if you want to reach the goal of mastering the guitar, the smaller goals will be – take a guitar class, memorize the chords, practice your picking. Your smaller goals can be things you do monthly or even daily in order to accomplish the main goal by the end of this year!
January Is The Month To Prepare
Now do not give up if you do not see results right away. January is not the only month in the year so do not expect to accomplish your YEARLY goals in just one month. Some people use this month to prepare and plan out their goals and start to get a routine. The first few months will be the hardest. It will be hard to stay on track and remember what you are really working for. Trust me once you stick with this routine it will make the rest of the year fly by easily.
Celebrate every win!
Now working towards your goals constantly can get tiring for your body and mind. Once you accomplish the mini goals towards your main one, it’s good to celebrate that. It gives you something to look towards while working. That main goal is a long way away and it helps to know that you celebrated working towards that goal.
Change is okay
If somewhere along your goals change or you decided that this path isn’t for you then that’s okay! It’s your path and it’s okay if you choose to go another way. As long as you keep working towards what you want then it can’t really go wrong. Keep an open mind to everything and keep up that positive attitude and you can get pretty far!
