When people think of mental health they usually think about mental illness or mental disorders. Yes those things contribute to the health of the mind’s mentality but it’s just so much more than that. Your mental health is connected to your state of emotional well being. Your mental health is your way of thinking. Your mental health is the key to good physical health and social well being. It’s hard to function your way in life when your mental health is not a good mindset.
You Are What You Think.
You know the saying you are what you eat? Well switch it up a bit and you get the saying “You are what you think” What does this saying mean you might ask? Well say you think horrible things about yourself, like you are ugly, lazy, not good enough. The mind doesn’t know what is true or not so if you must say these things your mind will tell your body to believe and soon you will feel the effect of these words. Words hurt more while time happens if you hear these things on a daily basis. You can combat these words by saying the opposite of the bad thoughts. Instead of thinking “you aren’t good enough” say that you are good enough. You can even say that isn’t true. You control your mind and it’s good to remember that.
Stress Is The Threat
You have things to do, Goals to reach and a life to build. Things will get stressful and you can’t avoid it but you can learn how to handle it. Stress will be the downfall of your motivation. You’ll think that you can’t do what you want to do, that it is too much. That’s not true and you must remember that. Whether we like it or not, we are on this earth together. When our mental health is bad we become spiteful, mean and shut ourselves in. How to treat a person changes the way they see life and how they treat another person. This affects a lot of people in the long run. So when we take care of ourselves, we learn how to take care of other people.
Overall your mental health affects the world. Not only you. You mean a lot to every person you meet so take care of yourself. You can get pretty far thinking this way and it will only benefit you in the future. Become who you want and do what you dream to do.
