How To Do A Self Reflection

    In order to make goals to be a better person you find out who you really are. We live with ourselves everyday, we think we know who we are but sometimes we really have not scratched the surface. In order to know what you really want, you must know who you really are!

What Is A Self-Reflection

    A self reflection is really how it sounds. Reflecting on yourself. You look in the mirror and you see a person. Who is that person? You see yourself but you don’t see the past, thoughts and emotions behind that person. The outside is what everyone sees but not everyone sees who is on the inside. You start to think about why you do the things you do, what is your thought process, and what do you really want. When you think about these things you are already going through the process of self reflecting.

Triggers and Emotions

      Another important role in self reflection is identifying what triggers your emotions. What makes you sad? What makes you happy? What makes you Mad? What makes you annoyed? What are your pet peeves? Learning what triggers you to have these emotions is identifying who you are deep down but in this next part we will learn why you are you.

Looking back in time

    Soon you will realize why the things that make you happy, make you happy. Even the things that make you sad, mad or upset all have a reason. That reason might be connected to your past. For example, this cartoon could make you happy because you watched it a lot as a child and it brings you back to that time. Another example would be it makes you sad when you are alone because you were probably left alone a lot as a kid. Our past does play a role in how we act, talk and think. Learning which good and bad emotions really comes from, really teaches you a lot about who you are.

Your very own goals and boundaries

    After learning more about yourself, you must know the good and the bad parts of you. These make you, well, you. What are things you love and hate about yourself and incorporate these things into your goals. You love the way you look? Take time to make it a daily goal to do body care, skin care or workout. This will show that you really love yourself to take the time and thank yourself for taking care of your body. You hate how angry you get? Take the time to make it a goal to practice ways of calming you down when you are angry. I can go on and on about this but i’m sure you get it by now. Think about what you really want in life and how you want to change yourself to make that life happen.

   When taking this time to yourself it is best to do it where you will not be bothered. It’s easy to get lost in your mind while self reflection and it’s gonna be some pain in those moments. Not being distracted by things around you really helps you sit with your mind and soul. Meditation is a good example of this. Though it may not be easy it’s only going to benefit you in the long run.
